DIA is distinguished among cybersecurity leaders
Secure Your Future
At University of Fairfax
Earn a Doctorate of Information Assurance (DIA) from University of Fairfax
Cybersecurity is relatively a new field and not many universities have solid courses. When even qualified entry-level professionals are hard to come-by, enterprises are struggling to find ‘leaders’ in the field. There is a huge demand for skilled experts in the field who can design new processes, train new professionals and implement them in the organizations. Here’s a doctorate for cybersecurity professionals to bridge this gap.
The University of Fairfax Doctorate of Information Assurance (DIA) is distinguished among cybersecurity leaders. Our doctoral students have diverse professional objectives – such as becoming a cybersecurity leader, policymaker, applied researcher or academic. Your admissions advisor will guide you to pursue the doctoral program that best fits your career goals and interests.
**Note** This program is offered in both a full distance education and a hybrid delivery format which allows students to take a portion of their coursework in a residential setting.

Our seasonal picks.
The holiday season doesn’t end in December…
January is a great time to visit the UK, with many traditional festive and winter events running, and some of the clearest winter weather.
These are our handpicked, must-see events and activities for the late winter season.
See the Christmas lights
Illuminating the crisp winter streets with lights each winter, these festive displays fill the air with Christmas cheer. Now a well-known tradition, twinkling fairy lights can be seen in countless parts of Britain, from the palatial corners of Regent Street in the capital to quaint towns such as Harrogate in Yorkshire.
For many, winter festivities mean tucking into some deliciously warming food and drink. This is certainly the case in Britain, as the holiday season welcomes traditional treats such as mince pies and Christmas pudding. Ask your family if you can help them to make a traditional British roast dinner!
Warm up on a cold day by strolling through the many cosy Christmas markets around the UK. Some of these markets run into January – see the list below:
- Bournemouth Christmas Market – Until the 2nd of January.
- Hyde Park Winter Wonderland in London – until the 3rd of January.
- Christmas at Kew in London – Until the 9th of January.
- Leicester Square Christmas Market in London – until the 3rd of January.
- Edinburgh Christmas Market – until the 4th of January.
New Year’s day celebrations
Aside from London’s famous new year’s day parade, many places around the UK have traditional new year’s celebrations. The 1st of January is a public holiday in Britain, so many people spend time with family and make new year’s resolutions – promises to themselves for the year ahead. Ask your teacher if you can make some new year’s resolutions together!
Hogwarts in the Snow
See the iconic Harry Potter film sets transformed for the winter season in a self-guided walking tour of the Warner Bros. Studio in London, during Hogwarts in the Snow around Christmas time, which runs until January the 16th.
Go for a winter walk
Britain is beautiful in the wintertime, and there’s nothing like a frosty walk along country roads or through magical woodlands – wrap up warm, and see if you can spot some wildlife, like the robin, a bird known for its bright red belly that is a symbol for winter in the UK.
Shop the January sales
Grab a bargain in the famous January sales – many designer and high street shops have big reductions after the Christmas rush, so it’s a great time to shop!
